The healing of your tongue piercing

The total and complete healing of your tongue piercing takes from 6 to 12 months. 9 months on average.

You may want to change your tongue bar before this time... Warning!!!! Resist!!!! Maybe you saw and bought a lovely piece of jewellery and you really want to put it on straight away before the healing is finished. Well don't!!!!! If you really can't wait to change something to your jewellery at that time, try to find screwable tips that you could just screw to your existing tongue bar without having to remove the bar itself.

So why wait that long? You got pierced two months ago and it seems that yourpiercing is totally healed, well it isn't and the healing is only superficial. There are two phases to a proper healing concerning body jewellery:

1)Initial healing: Necessary time so that the skin forms back inside the "tube", which is then red, hard, and with lymph flows. This special time is the most important of the healing and will require you to give extra care all the way through.

2)Complete healing: The piercing is totally and completely healed when the "tube" becomes insensitive, supple and white. It can take from 6 to 9 months. Therefore the healing takes a few months so be patient, and you shouldn't face any complications. If you have any doubt please don't hesitate to contact your GP or your chemist.

A tongue piercing is never healed in one month, even if it really seems so !!!!
